How to deal with a jerk boss?

Getting along with your boss can make your job easier to go to each day. But some bosses are difficult to deal with and can make the time you spend at work miserable. 1  Avoid getting angry when your boss says something negative. If you become flustered, you may say things you don't mean and make the situation worse. If you stand up to your boss, she may respect you more because you do not tolerate being talked down to.

3  Do not take what your boss says to you personally. I He may be a perfectionist and wants things done a certain way. Instead of getting upset, take his advice and see if you can improve your work.

4  Say something nice to your boss. Only give her sincere compliments because you don't want to appear phony. Tell her she looks nice or that you appreciate the advice she gave you the other day. If she notices that you are making an effort to get along with her, she may ease up on you.
